Acetophenone and 4-methoxybenzaldehyde were reacted in presence of sodium hydroxide with ethanol as the solvent leading to the formation of chalcones. (1) These chalcones were reacted hydrazine hydrate which formed the new cyclized product. (2). This was further reacted with ethylchloroacetate to give (3) product which was reacted with hydrazine hydrate to give (4).This product was reacted with different aromatic aldehydes to give final pyrazoline derivatives (5). The final product was found to be highly unstable.
