Explain briefly the idea |
Phenyl acetic acid is used as benzyl equivalent in the literature. However this has not been exploited for the synthesis of benzyl pyridines. This method provides an easy access to synthesis of 2/4 benzyl pyridines. One can also try using 2-bromo pyridines
