Title of the idea: Intramolecular hydroxylation of Allylic N-Oxides
Author of the idea: Ramesha
Email of the author ramesha63@hotmail.com
Key words for search: Dihydroxylation, Osmium tetroxide, N-Oxide, Hydrogen peroxide
Explain briefly the idea

Sharpless dihydroxylation is normally done with N-Oxide and OsO4 in water. This can be extended to intramolecular dihydroxylation as represented. Sharpless epoxidation withallylic hydroperoxides is already known. But allylic N-oxide to dihydroxylation is not reported so far.

Why do you think this idea will work? Dihydroxylation of allylic or non allylic olefins of tert amines.
Do you have any experimental proof? No
