Title of the idea: Interconversion of aromatic halides -Electrophillic iodination of Grignard reagent
Author of the idea: Ramesha
Email of the author ramesha63@hotmail.com
Key words for search: CHloro, Iodo, bromo, aryl, Grignard
Explain briefly the idea

Conversion of aromatic chloride or Bromide to aromatic Iodo compounds is difficult to achieve. Bromo to Iodo is done by reacting with CuI in DMF/DMSO. However, chloro to Iodo conversion is difficult. This method provides an interesting way of reacting Grignard reagent with Iodine (electrophile equivalent). If works, will be an interesting synthetic method in Organic synthesis.

Why do you think this idea will work? We have carried out bromo to Iodo in the laboratiry in 50 g scale. It works!
Do you have any experimental proof? Yes. NMR Data
Literature reference No
