Title of the idea: Dibenzosuberone -Hydrogen acceptor and hydrogen giver
Author of the idea: Ramesha
Email of the author ramesha63@hotmail.com
Key words for search: dehydrogenation, transfer hydrogenation, Dibenzosuberone, Dibenzosuberenone, palladium, Pd-C
Explain briefly the idea

Dibenosuberone is non aromatic. This can easily lose 2 hydrogen and become This reaction comes under transfer hydrogenation/dehydrogenation. Dibenzosuberenone (non-aromatic). In the absence of hydrogen acceptor (it is known that in the presence of hydrogen acceptor like dibutyl maleate, exclusive dibenzosuberenone is formed as per the attached reference). Dibenzosuberenone itself can act as hydrogen acceptor.

Why do you think this idea will work? Dibenzosubarene is a pharmaceutical impurity of Cyproheptadine. This could be the easiest method to synthesise this compound.
Do you have any experimental proof? Preliminary experiment shows this reaction works.
